About

I work where books and technology intersect. I am a publishing entrepreneur and programmer from Brazil, based in the south of England.

After early roles in digital departments of various UK publishers, I founded and ran Canelo for a decade, from it’s inception through to it's acquisition by Dorling Kindersley, a division of Penguin Random House. Canelo was founded to prove that digital publishing shouldn’t just be an afterthought, and always had technology at its core and as its competitive advantage.

Like all the best programmers I know, my background is actually in the humanities, with a degree in English and American Literature with Creative Writing from the University of Kent, and a masters in Publishing Studies from City St George’s University of London.

While I enjoy narratives and storytelling in all forms, from games to film and in between, my other great passion is the sea: I can’t live far from it. But nothing matters more than my wife and two children, and our far-flung families in Brazil and India.
